• Timber is the most environmentally friendly building material on earth.It is both renewable and sustainable.
• Untreated wood can be disposed of, or recycled at the end of its useful life without detriment to the environment unlike treated timber and plastic etc.
• Naturally durable timber such as chestnut or oak will give many years of service e.g. in cladding or window frames without any need for additional treatments and is better for the environmental than equivalent products like PVC-u or aluminium.
